In its first-ever simultaneous air and ground attack, single-engine, propeller driven aircraft of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) bombed the Air Force base located about 4 km away from Anuradhapura, a city lying 210 km north of Colombo on the 22nd October 2007 at around 3.30 a.m .
